Napoleon Hill made more millionaires over his lifetime than anyone who came before him…even more than Andrew Carnegie.

His book, ‘Think and Grow Rich’ even today influences the minds of people all around the world.

But how did Dr. Hill become so tremendous? So outrageously successful? At a very early age, he understood a very important success principle.

‘Billionaire’ Dan Pena over in Scotland also understands this very same success principle.

Most people say they want financial fr.eedom…a nicer home, another car, to travel more, to be able to make your own hours.

We see Dan Pena’s obscenely beautiful castle and comment, ‘I want that too.’

But Dan is quick to tell you about all the years of hard work and sacrifice he put in which made that castle his own.

And it took Napoleon Hill all but 3 seconds to tell Andrew Carnegie he was willing to work the next 20 years for him without any sort of pay or compensation in order to succeed.

So in light of what these two great men have accomplished, answer this for me:

“What are YOU willing to pay for your financial freedom?”

What are YOU willing to DO in order to have the things you’ve always wanted inyour life?

(What price are you going to pay if you DON’T do what it takes!)

People who have little can feel the pain of their circumstances and are more apt to do something to make a change in their lives. This is because we all naturally move toward pleasure and away from pain. Their challenge of course is that they have to learn a whole new way of doing things.

Those who have a lot and still strive to reach higher goals usually have some of the success principles already at work in their lives and need new strategies and paradyms.

Where do YOU fit in here?

Are you struggling to make ends meet? Are you saddled down with mortgages and other types of debt?

Or are you somewhere in the middle…where you have some, just enough to keep you moving on the hamster wheel of life each day?

9 out of 10 people tell me they’re 110% committed to doing what it takes to succeed.

You know what? All but 1 or 2 of those 9 people are simply talking and not ready to actually roll up their sleeves and scrape their knuckles getting the work done.

I’m telling you this:

“You have to choose financial freedom and then be willing to do what it takes to make it happen.”

You cannot hope for it.
You cannot wish it into existence.
And you cannot gain it from outside yourself.

We don’t all have to be Dan Penas and Napoleon Hills.

But take the wisdom from their achievements and make it your own.

If you can’t dedicate your next 20 years or if you’re not willing to sacrifice the precious moments of being with your family in order to get your own castle, then at least do this:

Take a small step.

Make an extra sales call.

Get up 20 minutes earlier each day to work on your vision or work out your muscles.

Cut out ONE TV show and get working on your future.

Choose It. Commit To It. Make It Happen.

Adults, with eyes to see, can learn so much about success in life from children.
When a baby is born, it has instinctively in it everything needed to succeed in life. A child is like a fresh piece of canvas, ready to become a unique contribution to the world. A child has had less exposure to adult conditioning with regards to behaviour and expectations. Every child has the seeds of success for life within them. By observing children being children, adults can re-learn principles of success that have been buried by their adult world.

As I was driving home last week, I noticed a little boy and his mother by the side of the road. They had stopped walking and the mother was adjusting a toy crossbow to fit more comfortably over the boy’s shoulder. I realized that at that moment in the heart and mind of that small boy, he was not on a sidewalk by a busy road. Perhaps he was hunting in a forest, or was an intrepid explorer of the unknown, ready to pull out his bow and arrows at the slightest hint of danger. In his imagination he was a hero, confident, skilled, and brave. He was alert, prepared, with the expectation of overcoming danger or threat with his skill and swift reflexes.

For a child involved in imaginative play, there is very little distinction between fantasy and reality. Children live and play out their dreams totally in the moment.

There are many principles of success that can be learned by looking through the eyes of a child. Children’s eyes see with clarity and perception and reflect the reality of who they are. Children are uncluttered by training, brainwashing, and by living according to the unwritten rules and etiquette that have assailed the adult mind. For a child life has limitless possibilities that have not been squashed by logic, common sense, or limiting expectations that become part of the adult mind.

What principle of success can be drawn from the little boy with his bow and arrow?

One of the most powerful and yet unused principles of success is the process of visualization. Visualization is the act of creating compelling and vivid pictures in your mind. This is just what the little boy was doing. He was “that hero”; he acted like him, dressed like him, and could picture himself in another time and another place. For him, it seemed like reality. This is a spontaneous, natural process for a child.

Researchers have found that visualization accelerates achievement in powerful ways. It has been proved by research that when performing any task in life the brain uses the same identical processes that it would if you were only vividly visualizing that activity. The brain sees no difference at all between visualizing something and actually doing it.

This principle also is applicable when a person is learning something new. Visualization makes the brain achieve more. In a study by researchers at Harvard University, it was found that students who visualized in advance were able to perform tasks with nearly 100 percent accuracy. Students who performed tasks without using visualization only achieved 55 percent accuracy.

Visualization is frequently used by Olympic and professional athletes to improve performance.
Jack Nicklaus, a legend in the golfing world, once described how he uses visualization. “I never hit a shot, not even in practice, without having a very sharp in-focus picture of it in my head. It’s like a color movie. First I “see” where I want it to finish, nice and white and sitting high on the bright green grass. Then the scene quickly changes, and I “see” the ball going there: its path, trajectory, and shape, even its behaviour on landing. Then there’s a sort of fade out, and the next scene shows me making the kind of swing that will turn the previous images into reality.” The results of the power of visualization for Jack Nicklaus are convincing: he has won over 100 tournaments earning over 5.7 million in the process.

For a child a high proportion of time is spent in visualization. Adults may say, “He’s only playing” and not see the potential power for success that the child is practicing. Visualization is a process that is naturally strong in the learning and formative years of the child. Research now confirms that visualization activates the creative powers of the subconscious mind. It focuses the brain by programming its reticular activating system (RAS) to notice available resources that were always there but previously unnoticed. Visualization, incredibly, also magnetizes and attracts you to the people, resources, and opportunities you need to achieve your goal.

Next time you see children playing, pause to watch visualization in its purest form. What can you learn and apply to your own life to accelerate and achieve greater success using the principle of visualization?

Ever wonder what makes up a personality? This article talks about the key personality characteristics and how they relate to the success or failure you achieve.

Have you ever wondered what types of personality characteristics are needed for success? Or those that lead to failure? Well if so, you’re in luck! This article is all about the key personality characteristics that can either lead to success or failure. So listen up, these are important!

Laziness

Our first characteristic is laziness. Let’s face it. Most people are just downright lazy. Given a choice they would prefer to do something easy over something that was hard. We all would, right?

The reason this is such an important personality characteristic is because laziness can also be a powerful motivator to succeed. Since laziness is essentially a desire to get the most done, in the shortest period of time, being lazy can actually be a good thing!

If you think about it, all human progress and technological advancement, has come from a desire to get things done easier and quicker than the traditional way of doing them. Why walk, when you can ride a bike? Why bike, when you can drive? Hell, why drive when you can fly!

The point is, whilst laziness certainly can lead to failure, it can also lead to success. However it’s a slippery slope, so don’t get too lazy, or you might find yourself unable to pay the rent!

Greed

If I were to ask you what you would prefer, more money or less money, which would your prefer? Hmmm, that’s a hard one. Let me think about that for a minute…Not! Of course, given a choice people will always choose more over less, that’s obvious.

So how does greed effect success or failure? Well greed, like laziness can also be a powerful motivator to succeed, or it can lead to failure. Like laziness, it’s a slippery slope.

Greed, or the desire for more, can motivate you to work hard, stay up late and generally try your utmost hardest to get that new phone, car, house etc… you always wanted. So the greed characteristic if harnessed correctly, can be an extremely powerful force to have on your side.

However the trouble with greed is that you are never satisfied with what you have. And so greedy people always want more. What happens to greedy people? That’s right, they get fat! Too much greed can cause a person to buy everything they see or desire, and so greed can be a very quick way to loose all your money!

Ambition

Do you enter a race to win, or to loose? Obviously winning is what all people want to do in life, no one likes coming in 2nd place, because deep down we are all ambitious.

Ambition is a characteristic that all successful people have. It is a desire to rise to the top and beat a competitor. However there are 2 types of ambition. The first is ambition for short term gain, for example winning a football game. The second type of ambition is for long term gain, for example winning the football championship.

Unfortunately most people tend to pursue short term ambitions, but success is not built upon short term gain. In order to be truly successful you need to pursue longer term gains, and this is what really counts.

It is my personal opinion that there are two words that are the driving force behind your personally achieving your ultimate outcome and your WHY in Life. These two words are the most powerful words that you can and will ever speak to yourself about any situation – “CAN” and “CAN’T” As I’ve said many times, “CAN” is a word of power; whereas, “CAN’T” is a word of retreat.

You have the power to decide if you wish to ACHIEVE or RETREAT, because when you speak victory words such as “I CAN”, you will attain whatever you set out to do regardless of what others are saying to you. There are many famous entrepreneurs in the world such as Ray Kroc, Fred Astaire, Walt Disney and Dick Clark. I can attest to the fact that if you spoke with each of them individually, they would tell you that in the beginning of their journey the majority of people told them —-you CAN’T do that! Fortunately, they disregarded these statements and listened to their inner voice, who said, “Oh yes I CAN!”

The key in life is to realize the most important person who speaks to you every day is you on the inside! You need to review your WHY in Life and see if your are on track toward achieving your WHY, or are you on a detour because someone told you, “You CAN’T do that so stop dreaming and just forget about it!” As a personal mindset builder, you need to speak to your inner person and say to yourself, “Today I will take another productive stride!”

Each morning, I visualize myself winning. My personal outcome for each day is to build a community of people who we can inspire and motivate all of us to make the world a better place in which to live. I have to admit if it was not for my inner person saying, “John you CAN do it! YOU CAN do it!” I may not be in the position of success that I am today. Some days it is still difficult, but guess what — we ARE doing it!

I am personally very proud and appreciative of the people who have stepped up to the plate and made individual contributions of talent and time and when combined have made an empowered team at the Di Lemme Development Group – a team that keeps on building each day!

In summary, you need to ask yourself a very honest question, “Am I listening to my victory words from the inside or am letting the outer defeat (loser) words control my outcome in life?”.

Ever think the world is out to make you fail? Do you think that “If you didn’t have bad luck you wouldn’t have any luck at all ? “
Wrong!
You make your own luck and your own failures and successes.
Are you one of the positive ones who think “Everything happens for a reason!” ?
Good for you! You are correct! Well, sort of…

Everything DOES happen for a reason, but not in the way many people think. Everything in your life happens because you made it happen.
Car break down ? Yeah, that was you!
Can’t find the right partner? Yeah that was you too!
Your life. Your events. You made it happen.

How can this be ?
Its all because of the laws of the Universe! Time, space, quantum physics, vibrations and energy. Its all around you every moment of every day reading you and transforming your life.

Sound too “New Age” for you ? Its all real science and real life.

Your world is built on one main law. The law of attraction. The law of attraction means that energy attracts like energy, vibrations attract like vibrations. This means that what you feel is what you get out of life. Having a bad day and things just keep getting worse ? It makes perfect sense in context with the law of attraction.

So what happens when you use this law to your advantage? When you take all of your goals and dreams and treat them like they will happen, and you stay positive ? Well your dreams come true, and miracles happen. In the universe anything is possible, and you can make it happen if you know how.
Here are a few tips to to get start on on your way to become a master of manifestation.

Stay Positive. The Universe is always listening and you can sabotage yourself and your dreams by becoming self critical and negative. Pay attention to your “Inner Voice” and make corrections when needed.

Stay connected. Staying connected with your inner self is very important. You need to listen to your instincts when you are trying to fallow your life path you are dreaming of. You also need to be aware of what you really want in life instead of what you THINK you want in life. One way to achieve this is through meditation and self-discovery.

Stay Strong. Don’t let anyone smash, steal, or put your dreams down. Not everyone will agree with or support your dreams, but don’t let that get you down. They are your dreams alone, and are completely possible. Don’t let anyone stand in your way of accomplishing your goals!

I would wish you the best of luck, but you have something better than luck when the Universe is on your side!

This Article shows you the first steps towards claiming back mastery of your life. It looks at how your brain can be observed and brought under control to move your life in the desired direction.

Your Brain is a fantastic piece of craftsmanship. Its ability to process and store information couldn’t possibly be contested by even the most advanced computers, now or in the future. It’s so advanced, it seems, that it needs no real help from “You” to run your life. It issues reactions to your environment by reaching into its vast memory, going through all kinds of calculations, and producing the best action.

How does it determine the best action? Well, generally, that is a result of the experiences you have had up until the moment of the decision. You see, the brain kicks into gear when you are born. It’s Grand Purpose…Self Preservation. It needs to keep you alive. To do that, it must make sure that you are equipped to handle the world around you. It takes in everything and tries to breakdown all it stores into categories and groups. Good, Bad, Likes, Dislikes. Basically, it creates boxes and labels them; then organizes events, circumstances, objects into these boxes. It also has reactive behaviours stored in connection with these boxes.

As these boxes and their contents increase, we have more and more defined reactions to life. Long after the incidents that cause the addition of objects to boxes, the references remain. Result our attitudes towards certain things are formed. We don’t truly remember why, whether the reason is valid or not. We just accept that “I like that person” or “This makes me uneasy”. Or course there are loads of situations that we react to, based on intuition etc. The point is that there are also loads that we have no input whatsoever into how the brain has chosen its reaction, at least not anymore.

Soon, these boxes start to determine your state of mind. You are no longer in control. Your brain has it filed away somewhere that since your football coach thinks you suck, the greatest possibility is that you do suck. More importantly, this situation is in the “Sad Things” box. And this box has certain reactions linked with it…inadequacy, sadness, depression, anger (No doubt, because the same situation crosses into the “Angry Things” box somewhere along the line). So, surprise, surprise, you are sad! And if it rains or is cloudy…that’s another item for the “Sad Things” box to accentuate the situation. It’s not really your fault you see. It’s the box!

The Brain has taken over. Most of us are on Auto-Pilot. You have to take control back. You need to be there to catch that pre-defined action that the brain throws out at you. You can then choose not to react accordingly. Those boxes have to be purposefully emptied so you can start to see things anew again.

This is a tough task. You have been this way all your life. In trying, you will meet with fierce opposition from your mind. You cannot win this battle my friend. You can, however, see the actions the brain presents in a different light. These actions are simply recommendations. More and more you can catch yourself react to things that happen around you. As you become more “aware”, you stop yourself from proceeding with the directed action, and “respond” in your chosen way. This is how you can start to deprogram.

Columnist Nan Russell shares career insights learned over 20 years in the corporate world, including as a Vice President at QVC

Most people are looking for the secret to success; the secret to being a millionaire; the secret to winning at working. To help them find it, Amazon.com currently inventories 1,797 books promising success secrets, everything from “Mustang Sallies: Success Secrets of Women Who Refuse to Run With the Herd” to “The 21 Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires.”

So, if you’re one of those looking, I’ll save you some time. The bottom line is this – there is no secret. There’s no magical formula to follow; no short-cuts to take or lottery tickets you can purchase. People who are winning at working know it takes persistence, determination, commitment, passion, practice, focus and hard work. There are no secrets to any of that. Just look around.

Take Chester Carlson. Chester became a rich man as the successful inventor of an electrostatic paper-copying process that later became the Xerox Corporation, even though twenty corporations rejected his idea. It took Chester seven years of persistence and determination before he found one tiny company willing to purchase his invention.

Or take Julia Child. After receiving a contract for a French cookbook, Julia worked five years, with two collaborators, only to produce a manuscript that was rejected by the publisher. A year of revisions produced another rejected manuscript. But Julia refused to give up. It took eight years and a second publisher for Julia’s cookbook, which sold more than a million copies, to find a bookshelf.

If you want to be winning at working, stop looking for some secret “out there” to bring you success. Instead, turn your sights inward and you’ll find everything you need. You see, you’re the secret to your success. But if you think you don’t have what it takes, think again.

Visit any craft fair, hobbyist, volunteer organization or internet blog. Note poets, musicians, artists, athletes, hackers, spammers and graffiti artists. Determination, persistence, initiative and hard work manifests itself in many ways and places, some positive endeavors and some not so positive. But it’s the same ingredients. And they’re inside you waiting to be tapped.

People work on novels after a full day’s work. They develop products in their garages, then figure out how to manufacture and market them. They volunteer to coach their daughter’s soccer team or organize food drives for their community. They put energy into their interests and passions. They persist against hardships, set-backs and disappointments, demonstrating with their actions they have what it takes.

Stop looking for success secrets and start realizing you’re the best kept secret you have. Like Moliere puts it, “The heart can do anything.” Find your heart in your work and you can do anything, too.

The samurai lived by the sword and died by it. They were so adept at reading body movement that they were able to draw their swords and use them with deadly effect against opponents in the mere blink of an eye. So how can the code that they lived their lives by in the Seventeenth Century help you now?

A Seventeenth Century Samurai maxim states:

“A man who has attained mastery of an art reveals it in his every action”

This saying is one of my personal favorites. There is so much depth to its meaning. Allow me to discuss it a little and explain how it will be able to benefit you.

First, a question: What is the single greatest thing that you can do with mastery and excellence? Don’t say: “nothing.” Everybody is good at something. Just think for a moment.

There will be one thing that you can do perfectly time and time again. It is the thing that is so ridiculously easy for you to do that you can do it with your eyes closed, almost standing on your head – so to speak. It may be a simple thing or it may be something quite complex, but whatever it is you make it look easy.

In fact, you are so good at it you make other people think that they can do it easily too – until they try. It might be a sport like tennis or something as mundane as making scones or cupcakes.

It’s amazing how a champion tennis player can make the game look so simple. Or how a master cook can seemingly slap ingredients together and come up with an absolute masterpiece of culinary delight.

So what is it? What are you a master at? Keep that thing in mind while I diverge back to the samurai for a moment – a little bit of history.

The samurai lived by the sword and died by it. They were so adept at reading body movement that they were able to draw their swords and use them with deadly effect against opponents in the mere blink of an eye. Their observations and reflexes were finely honed, principally because their very existence depended on it. But did you know that they were able to transcend their ability with the sword into other arts? Many of them were also master poets. Others were highly skilled calligraphers. Others became very skilled in the art of the tea ceremony. Some became master carpenters.

Have you noticed how these “ancillary” skills are so diametrically opposed to their military expertise with the sword? So how and why did they engage in these things? Could it be that they were “balancing” their lives? Were they following the concept of “yin and yang?”

If you are not sure what yin and yang is I will outline it briefly for you. Basically, it a Japanese recognition of the duality of all things in nature. For instance, night and day, female and male, black and white and so on. Further, there is some night within day and some day within night and so on.

Time for another question. Are you so set in your ways that you refuse to develop other skills? Can you not broaden your horizons? Might you be able to “balance” your life a little more?

Think back to that one thing that you are able to do very well. Why not take that mindset and transfer it to something else? You can create a persona that shows other people that you are a special person. Others have done it. You even know them. Some of them might even be your close friends. They are the people who seem to be good at everything they turn their minds to. I’ll bet you are thinking of somebody like that right now.

Now you know how they do it. They are using the samurai maxim.

And just to balance the genders (yin and yang):

“A woman who has attained mastery of an art reveals it in her every action”

Develop yourself. Improve your abilities. You can do it. All it takes is discipline and a willingness to expand your mind. The samurai did it. So can you.

Every person has a special gift. However your gift can only be recognised and bring joy to others when it is released. It may not seem special to you because you are the only one looking at it.

Every person on this earth has a special gift. The gifts may not all be equal but they are all special. What is your gift?

It may be singing, acting or craftsmanship. Or you may have an eye for detail, allowing you to turn an ordinary space into a wonderful haven, where people would want to spend their time.

It’s never too late to make a change and find a path that will allow you to be true to yourself. You just need to recognize your gift and take it out from where it is hidden.

The time has come for you to let your light shine and to do what you truly enjoy. Do it for yourself and for nobody else. But when you do, your light might just lighten up somebody else’s way.

Before I started my business I thought I had no special talent and that I therefore had nothing worthwhile to offer. I know that many of you are at that place right now. I want to encourage and tell you that you have got something. What it is I don’t know, only you do. But I know this, it is something special.

Not sharing it with the world will be doing a great disservice to yourself and to the entire world. Nothing is appreciated until it is released for all to see, hear and treasure.

Imagine a world without a Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, Bill Gates or a Picasso. It’s almost like imagining a world without music or computers as we know them. By sharing their talent with us, these individuals have certainly made our world a better place.

There are others you can think of, who have appeared seemingly out of nowhere, and have redefined our worlds. They have changed the way we eat drink and relax, even the way we do business. But before they took that step to show us what they had, nobody had even an inkling as to what was coming.

What about you. Who knows how you could change our world. You could be the next big thing, but even if you don’t change the world like Bill Gates, you could still change your world, in a million ways. And ultimately that’s the most important part. Changing your world.

If you don’t do something about it you’ll never know, what you’re capable of. You’ll never know how it could have been. By taking that first step you’re making a declaration of your independence.

What caused me to take that first step? I was sick and tired of living for weekends. I was tired of working for a living, of always not having enough money. I got tired of getting up in the morning and going to work even if I didn’t feel it. I was tired of being told what to do and how to do it. I wanted my freedom and independence.

I realized that there are so may people all over the world who need someone to tell them that they can achieve their dreams, just as I needed someone to tell me that.

I knew that when I made it I would inspire so many others who thought they couldn’t make it. When you make your dreams come true it may be only for yourself, but there are hundreds and maybe thousands who’ll be inspired. Especially in your own community.

They’ll say if so and so could do it, I can do it too. People are not as much influenced by people from afar as they are by those close to them. Your success becomes their success.

So go out there and follow your dreams. Don’t be afraid to become the first in your community. Take it little by little, day by day, step by step. As you accomplish the one step the next step will come into view, and will be that much more manageable.

Why Failure is Good For You

You have only failed if you accept that you have failed. Everybody experiences temporary setbacks from time to time. Use these setbacks as stepping stones towards your success, because they teach you what works and what doesn't work

How do you view failure? Do you see it as something negative that you don’t want to be associated with or do you see it as something positive? Most people in the world don’t like failure.

Fear of failure is the main reason why more than 80% of people in the world are not prepared to change their circumstances. Why do people fear failure so much? The reason for this is because people don’t understand the dynamics involved in success and failure.

Everything we do in life has either a right way of doing it and a wrong way of doing it. When we do it the right way we meet with success. Needless to say that when we do it the wrong way we are unsuccessful.

Understanding this is important because it puts failure in its proper perspective and removes the fear around it.

When someone who doesn’t understand this dynamic meets with temporary failure he gives up thinking that he is not good enough or that he will never make it. But is this really what it is? Does the fact that you didn’t make it the first time mean that you are not good enough? Does it mean that you’ll never make it? Not at all! All it means is YOU HAVE NOT FOUND THE CORRECT METHOD YET!

So what do you do next? You go back and try and find out where you went wrong. Then you try again this time employing a different method. When this doesn’t work you go back and look at everything you have done so far. Talk to successful people who have made it in this area. Think of what you might have left out and try again.

Whatever you do, don’t give up. Why do you need to do this? Because, “Every failure, every adversity and every heartache, carries with it the seed of an equivalent or a greater benefit”, says author and mentor to many great men, Napoleon Hill. Failure contains the seed of victory and of success.

Failure teaches you what works and what doesn’t. When you study the reasons for your failure and learn from it, you’ll find the key to your success. The great inventor Thomas Edison knew this truth better than anyone else. It took Edison 8000 trials to perfect the Edison battery? Afterwards he uttered this famous quote, “At least we know 8000 things that don’t work”.

You should also be like that. Every successful person has had to overcome temporary defeat at one time or another. Know this! You haven’t really failed until you ACCEPT defeat. Do you envy those who got success easily? Don’t! Success earned in spite of earlier failure is so much sweeter than if you would get it otherwise.

Those who earn success in this way know the road to success. They are not afraid of losing what they have because they have learned how to become successful. Those that easily got success don’t know the road.

They got there so quickly that they didn’t bother to look around. Let me use the following analogy to illustrate. Take two guys traveling to the same destination, with this difference. The one is going by airplane and the other by car, but the one arriving by car had a few breakdowns along the way.

If you take these two guys back to their original position and ask them to find their way to their destination, who do you think is going to remember the road better the next time? Surely the guy who had a few breakdowns and spend some time on the road, because he had the opportunity to look around.

Let temporary defeat no longer be an obstacle. You have many hidden talents, so start working towards realizing your dreams. Don’t be put off by the fear of failure. Failure is an ally because it contains the seed of success.
